Medical Officer for Schools
Dr Harjeev Rai was appointed as the Medical Officer for Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls in July 2017. He is a member of MOSA (Medical Officer of Schools Association). He is passionate about ensuring the needs of the pupil from a psychological and physical wellbeing perspective are met as they transition through the education system. Dr Rai also advises the school on safeguarding matters as well as reviewing the schools medical room policy’s and protocols together with providing the school nurses with clinical governance support.
Dr Rai is also a Seminar Lead at Cambridge University’s Medical School. He has a good understanding of the effect of stress on pupils straight through from school to higher education. We feel that our role is to support pupils and guide schools during a difficult time in that pupil’s educational journey.
